Picture Lady came to our classroom four times to teach us about different artists.
This is KC's "Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh.


This is Claude Monet who does impressionism.


George Seurat's art was called pointellism.

Recycling Field Trip

Student were excited for the field trip to the recycling center.
We were weighted on the scale at the beginning and end of the tour. We weighted 2480 pounds and lost 80 pounds by the end of the tour.


Pendleton creates 80-100 tons of garbage a day.
Pendleton recycles about 36% of that garbage.
This machine is like a giant WALL-E.

It makes cubes of material to be recycled. Metal...


cardboard...
office paper...
newspaper and magazine...(which are the only ones they will pick up at your house)


and electrical wire.

They make wood chips which are sent to a power plant and burned for electricity.

By the end of the morning, we had learned a lot of important information about protecting our community and planet!
